Call it a Day

by Mariacelli

I can't believe that you can even sleep
Despite my unexpected retreat
I never thought that I'd be the one
To give up when I said that I won't be gone
Your coffee cup will sit forever in stillness
Yet I will continue to ponder in this life of unrest
Can we just call it a day
And quit everything that you always say
'Cause I get tired of these things too you know
So better start packing up and go
And stop feeling sorry for yourself
'Cause nothing's gonna happen if you do
I won't be back, I don't wanna be back
Enough of the hours that I tried to keep track
Enough of the days I wish that didn't exist
Enough of the slashes on your juvenile wrist
It's over now, let's call it a day
Let's quit everything that we always say.
